1. Whinlatter Forest

Surrounded by Catbells, Borrowdale and some of the Lake District’s most recognisable scenery, Derwentwater offers a classic Lakeland experience.

3. The Lakes Distillery

5. The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway
Affectionately known as “La’al Ratty”, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway takes passengers on a seven-mile journey through the beautiful Eskdale countryside.
The historic narrow-gauge railway travels through peaceful valleys, woodland and farmland, with opportunities to stop for walks and picnics along the route. Steam engines, cafés, play areas and dog-friendly facilities make it a particularly good choice for a relaxed family day out.
